April showers bring May flowers
Bookmarking my way into spring with floral motifs, pink things to wear, and homewares that spark joy.
In Bloom: My mantle in Clinton Hill with pink tulips, bud vases from my favorite Fox Fodder Flowers, looks I love from Maria McManus SS25, and our 14k gold Aria Earrings in Pink Topaz.
Hi friends, and happy Easter! It’s *just* warming up in NYC, but I took two quick trips to Texas, and the high temps (plus some shopping at Kick Pleat) got me very excited for spring things and warm-weather dressing. My friends know I’m a hot-weather gal—my circulation is terrible, and my hands hate the cold! I always find it so easy to design our Spring/Summer drops, with their flowery motifs and pastel palettes.
All that to say: I’m very much here for May flowers, pops of pink in my wardrobe, and homewares to usher in a new season. Peep these lemon toleware candlesticks and seagrass glasses, and tell me you’re not dying to throw a spring dinner party? Enjoy!
I often look to botanical prints and floral drawings for inspiration when designing, and I adore this floral print from famed English illustrator Cyril Hubbard. I would frame it with a big matte; the large scale makes the flower feel a little less precious. It’d make such a great statement in a kitchen or living room.
Our flamedworked glass Vinca Flower Necklace incorporates the beautiful craftwork of a glass artist in upstate New York. The big bloom is the perfect complement to a warm-weather look.
I found a vintage French tole chandelier on Etsy for our beach cottage that people always comment on. These lemon candlesticks are a little nod to that. They’d be so great with some yellow or green tapers!
Springtime means planting some flowers or herbs and putting them on your NYC fire escape or in your windowsill if you don’t have outdoor space. This little pot will make your plants doubly chic.
Goodness, I love these! Quite the investment, but I would wear these Tod’s sandals spring through summer daily!
I own a handful of Rosie Assoulin skirts and always feel like a million dollars in them. This one is giving me picnic vibes.
I love ceramics. I love Italy. So this little white dove (for plants or precious tokens) has my heart.
We use a lot of glass in our collections, and I’m completely charmed by this hand-blown glass fish at the bottom of this delightful pitcher. Another item that would make my springtime table shine, I’d fill it with flowers when not serving water (or drinks) from this baby.
Great tall candlesticks for the toleware candleholders.
And for anyone who loves a straw (like my daughter Ruby, who always requests one), consider these glass straws—more eco-friendly and very chic.
Hand-embroidered napkins that would be showstopping on a springtime table. These are embroidered by a women's cooperative, which makes them even more special.
We’re big cocktail people (I drink them; my husband makes them). I’d request a “Rome with a View” or daiquiri in these seagrass glasses.
I have admired this Prada top for a while. It’ll probably remain on my springtime wishlist, but you should get it! Colors, print, everything—gorgeous!
These 14k yellow gold and pink topaz earrings are perfect in any season, but I especially love a pop of pink in springtime!
It’s technically part of the men’s collection, but I’m head over heels for this semi-sheer, perfect-pink trench. I’d buy it in the smaller size, embrace a slightly oversized fit, and roll up the sleeves. The color is absolute perfection.
I love a neckmess that incorporates a little scarf, and this one is a chic nod to the start of spring.
I’d pair my new trench with these pinch conch and garnet beads—a subtle strand that looks great alone or adds a very cool layer to a neck mess.
For all your dressy occasions as the weather gets warmer, consider the Gala Bag. Big enough to hold a cell phone, lipstick, credit cards (and more!), and beautiful enough to put on the table next to you.
xx,
Lizzie
Oh I love your mantle. I have a few at home and they are always so fun to style!
I love the Italian dove! Makes me excited about going back to Italy and shopping for all the things.
